Since the mid 1970’s, legislation in this area of employment has increased significantly.

Should an Employment Tribunal decide that an employer has unlawfully discriminated against an employee, it can instruct the employer to pay an amount of money that is "uncapped." Awards for discrimination can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds. Cases are also extremely complex and can take a number of days if not weeks to hear at the employment tribunal
